My name is Lucas, I'm 28 years old and I come from Brazil/Italy.
Since the age of 8, I have been playing the guitar. I started learning some songs from my father, by the age 10 I had fallen in love with the classical guitar. At this time I decided to take some formal lessons. At the Conversatório Federal de Pelotas, Brazil, I studied music theory and guitar perfomance with Prof. Maurício Machado Nunes.
After that, I received the opportunity to study with Prof. Luiz Cláudio Ribas Ferreira in Curitiba. After doing an exchange program for a year in Colombia, I moved back to Brazil to study my bachelor in Music at the Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul. There I was assisted by Prof Paulo Inda and Prof Marcos Araújo. During this time, I also took private lessons with Prof Fabio Zanon and I participated in festivals and competitions around South America. I received several prizes during this time, including, 3th prize in the Peru International Guitar Competition in 2015, 1st prize at the Uruguay International Guitar Competition in 2015 and the Guitar Coop award in 2017.
In 2018 I moved to Europe to study my master degree at the Universität Mozarteum in Salzburg, Austria, under the guidance of Prof. Marco Tamayo. While undertaking my masters, I realized the importance that teaching held for me and I decided to focus on further developing my pedagogical skills. For this reason I recently moved to Switzerland to study my second masters, this time in Music Pedagogy at the Hochschule der Künste Bern, supervised by Prof. Elena Càsoli.
Why should I choose you to teach me guitar?
Because it will be fun to play guitar! I believe that the fastest and best way to learn music is to find joy in doing so. As a result, I place great important in having my students enjoy each class and practice session.
In my life I have lived in several countries. This experience taught me not only to speak several different languages, but also to comprehend different cultures. This made me respect and understand the beauty of differences.
For this reason, I believe these experiences have influenced my way of teaching, not only by my understanding of cultural and historic aspects of composers and musical styles, but also with a detailed perspective of the possibilities of how to play the guitar and what it means to make music.
But what am I actually going to learn?
My lessons are designed for students who would like to study ukulele, classical, acoustic and electric guitar and learn:
- How to read scores, tabs and chords
- Harmony / counterpoint and how to use it to compose or improvise
- Arpeggio and scales
- A systematic technique that allows you to play with as little effort as possible
- Body awareness
- Sight-reading
- Perfomance training
- Ear training
Where do the classes take place and how much do they cost?
The lessons can take place in Bern or online, if preferred! They cost 200 CHF per lesson. The payment can be made by bank transfer, cash or cryptocurrencies as Bitcoin or Ethereum. For more informations, send me a message!
